Welcome

Today is the day we make our choices for tomorrow. English IV will be your last language arts class prior to graduation. This is the time to gain as many skills in writing, reading, and analyzing as you possibly can. Here on this blog spot, you are free to express yourself about the things we are studying. You are reminded about being appropriate to the school environment. I welcome your mature comments.

We are what we read and enjoy...

Of all the poems, short stories, plays, and novels that you have read during your high school years, what work will you never forget?  What did you learn or take from your reading of this work?  (Deadline to post a response to this blog is midnight, Friday, Dec. 13, 2013).

A poem that I continue to read every year is The Raven. I always read it around this time of year "I remember, it was in the bleak December". It will always be one of my favorites. As for Macbeth, it taught me that we can't let others lead us to our own downfall. In the end it's just us and our own fate. AV1

All the poems and stories we have read throughout high school, I will never forget Macbeth. Macbeth was very interesting to me. I learned you sometimes the good can be evil , never let others control you, and bad can also go good.

My favorite writer is Shakespeare. I love anything he has written. I have not read Hamlet; therefore, at the moment my favorite work is Macbeth. Through the play, I did learn a valuable lesson. Greed, selfishness, and coward-like behavior leads to consequences
