Welcome
Today is the day we make our choices for tomorrow. English IV will be your last language arts class prior to graduation. This is the time to gain as many skills in writing, reading, and analyzing as you possibly can. Here on this blog spot, you are free to express yourself about the things we are studying. You are reminded about being appropriate to the school environment. I welcome your mature comments.

I think the battle with the dragon most defined Beowulf as a hero. One reason is his age. Despite his age he still went and tried to defeat the dragon. Another reason is when Beowulf was dieing he asked for the treasure to be brought back for his people. That shows Beowulf was not only searching for fame but he truly cared for his people. This battle showed Beowulf's bravery and how much he card for the people. BS1
The battle with Grendel's mother showed bravery through loyalty AND the strength he had to fight off a monster twice his size. (It took four men to lift Grendel's head, I'm sure his mother is just as large.)
I think the battle with the dragon proved how heroic he was because he said he wanted to defeat it himself. He wanted to show he could still fight desptie his age. He did go into battle and succeed in defeating the dragon and then said to leave the treasure to his people. PR1
I believe that the battle against the dragon showed that Beowulf was a hero the most. It showed he had loyalty to his people when he said to give all of his treasures to his people if he died. It also showed he had courage when he was willing to fight the dragon after he had aged many years from his past battles.
