Piggy, don't you see that was Simon and THAT WAS MURDER!

How does Simon's death represent the death of innocence in the island, especially in regards to Ralph?  (The deadline to post a response is midnight, Tuesday, May 1, 2012.)

In chapter nine Simon gets killed by Jack and the other hunters. Jack and the other hunters thought that Simon was the beast so they decided to kill him. The way that it represents the death of innocence is Simon really wasn't the beast. They killed Simon because they thought he was something he wasn't. In regards to Ralph he knows that it really was Simon.
