Welcome

Today is the day we make our choices for tomorrow. English IV will be your last language arts class prior to graduation. This is the time to gain as many skills in writing, reading, and analyzing as you possibly can. Here on this blog spot, you are free to express yourself about the things we are studying. You are reminded about being appropriate to the school environment. I welcome your mature comments.

Defining a Hero...

The Anglo-Saxons defined a hero as "one who won fame and glory by doing great deeds."  How do you define a hero and who is your personal hero and how does this person exemplify your definition of a hero?  (The deadline to post a response to this blog question is midnight, January 23, 2012.)

I define a hero by the way they treat others and how kind they are. My personal hero is my youth pastor because he is always giving up his time to help others.

I define a hero as someone who is a positive role model. My personal hero is my grandmother. Reason being is because she is a caring person. She has a heart of gold, she helps anyone and everyone she can. She is a very positive person.

I believe that all military, and emergency services are people that display the traits of a hero. For someone to know that everyday could be they’re last explemfies tremendous courage and the will to protect anyone with their lives. With these people doing this they go into work with families at home doing whatever they can to protect them. Everyday they are honored and praised, everyday we say the pledge we do it because of them without their heroic deeds who knows what we would be saying or what are daily lives would be like.
