BEOWULF: The Epic Hero

I find the loyalty of the thanes to their king or leader, especially Wiglaf to Beowulf, to be the most believable. Beowulf's superhuman breathing was definitely the hardest to accept. I think Beowulf's battle with Grendel's mother conveyed him as the epic hero because she almost defeated him and then he got back up and killed her.
