A Man for All Times

Today, you learned many things about William Shakespeare. Did you know that your class quote/motto was written by William Shakespeare? Look at the attached picture and quote by the great "Bard of Avon" and comment on how Shakespeare's life proves this quote. (The deadline to post a response is midnight Friday, December 3, 2010)

William Shakespeare was born to illiterate parents and only attended school up to the equivalent of sixth grade, yet he became one of the most well-known and respected writers ever. The quote and picture say that, like William Shakespeare, people are the primary force behind their destinies. Destiny is not predetermined, and people can decide their futures for themselves.

People decide their destinies for themselves. Shakespeare's parents were illiterate and he only had a sixth grade education. However, he became one of the world's greatest playwrights. In response to the quote, people can make their own destinies.

William Shakespeare proves his quote because he did hold his destiny in himself. Neither of his parents could not read nor write which helped him to strive to become and do better. Also, William Shakespeare did not go to college or go through any traning proving, but he still became very famous and successful. His success with his stories, plays, and sonnets proves that anyone can do anything as long as he or she puts his or her mind to it and tries.
